Description
6 pdr Projectile fired from Hotchkiss QF Mk II Male Tank Gun. The projectile is made from steel. The copper driving bands are missing. The projectile has cracked open on one side due to a partial detonation. The base plug fuze is made from cast metal and is badly distorted. Extensive spot rusting and corrosion is evident on projectile remains. There are no markings visible.
History / Summary
This exploded 6 pounder projectile was taken from one of the Mark II Male tanks which supported the first Australian attack at Bullecourt on 11 April 1917.
