Digitisation is an essential strategy for the preservation of the Memorial's National Collection. In 2018 the Memorial received additional funding from the Commonwealth Government for a digitisation project to run through to 2022.
Eleven collections in a variety of formats, including photographic negatives, archival material, posters, maps, large technology objects, magnetic audio-visual tapes and narrow gauge film, are being digitised and made available here as part of our Digital Collection. This will help preserve the original items and allow greater access to the collection by the public and researchers.
As we digitise collection items, some objects will be removed from public access or display. We aim to minimise disruption by limiting the amount of time objects are unavailable.
