History / Summary
Awarded to 2042 Extra Regimental Sergeant Percy George Colton Smith. He was born at Glass House Mountain, Queensland on 11 December 1898 and enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 7 July 1917, serving overseas with 3 Machine Gun Battalion. On 21 March 1941 he enlisted at Echuca, Victoria, as a private with 9 Garrison Battalion. His regimental number was V9207. On 22 October of that year he is recorded as enlisting and serving with Australian Armoured Fighting Vehicles School. His allocated number was V143353 and on discharge, on 8 December 1944, his rank was Lance Corporal.
