Description
Australian First World War recruitment poster for the Sportsmen's 1000 issued by the State Parliamentary Recruiting Committee. One of a series of long rectangular posters which target specific types of sportsmen which uses sporting terms particular to their sport to attract recruits. This poster targets tennis players urging then to ' ...stand the 'Racquet' and enlist in the Sportsmen's 1000'. Other sports featured were football, golf; and rowing. Text only the posters are printed in blue and red ink, and framed within a blue border.
