INTERFET vehicular number plate : General P J Cosgrove, Australian Army
Description
Reflective white, rectangular aluminium number plate with a raised blue and raised lettering 'INTERFET'. Printed in blue at the bottom of the plate is further text which reads 'Australian Defence Force'. There are securing holes in each corner plus four more at the top.
History / Summary
This INTERFET number plate was one of two fitted to General Peter Cosgrove's vehicle during his service in East Timor in 1999-2000. The plate is unique in that forces generally kept their own service number plates on vehicles. Only General Cosgrove's vehicle had this plate.
