Smiling soldier
Description
Depicts a soldier in a tin hat, holding a rifle on his shoulder, smiling , as he walks past a rural landscape with a windmill. The drawing was produced during the First World War by Lt. D.M. Elliott, 11th Battalion, who enlisted in Melbourne in September 1914 and died of wounds, 18 September 1918 near Roisel, France.
