Family portrait of 406572 Flight Lieutenant (Flt Lt) Frank Keith Morcombe, of Coorow, WA, and his wife Alma and their two children Michael and baby Alma taken at Pingelly. Flt Lt Morcombe was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross in August 1943 for actions whilst a member of No 2 Squadron RAAF. He was transferred to No 1 Operational Training Unit (1OTU) as a flying instructor and was killed in a flying accident on 5 October 1943 at Sale in Victoria.
