Description

Staff officer's scarlet wool cloth mess jacket with black shawl collar and cuffs (facings), lined throughout with red satin. The black shoulder straps are edged with 18mm wide gold lace and bear embroidered gold, cotton and velvet rank insignia for a brigadier, together with a gold anodised aluminium Reserve of Officers 'R' at the shoulder seam. The straps are attached to the jacket at the neck with gold anodised aluminium buttons for the Royal Australian Army Survey Corps. A red and white woven manufacturer's label 'Christie's PTY. LTD. SYDNEY', is sewn to the back lining.
