Embroidered silk postcard made in France during the First World War. Of envelope design, this postcard features purple and white pansies and a string of small purple flowers. A central butterfly features wings embellished with the Union Jack, Italian, American, Russian, Belgian and French flags. A small card insert features shields made for the Red Ensign, the Merchant flag of the Commonwealth and for each of the Russian, American, Italian, Romanian, Serbian and French flags.
