Studio portrait of the soccer club the Fremantle Rangers. Front row, right, is James (Barney) Cowan, of Fremantle, WA. 3139 Private James Cowan, enlisted in November 1916. He died in Brimingham, England, on 24 November 1917 of wounds received in action at Passchendaele, Belgium. He was 30 years of age. This is one of a collection of eight photographs relating to the Caledonian Soccer Club, Fremantle, WA.
