Description

The Mk IV Female tank, known as 'GRIT', being delivered to the Australian War Memorial (AWM). The tank arrived by rail from Melbourne and was towed by road from Canberra station to the AWM by four Government Transport trucks. The steel towing cable is visible at the front of the tank and the original Parliament House can be seen in the background, left.
