Studio portrait of SX12820 Gunner (Gnr) James Jury Dadds, 2/7 Field Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery with his wife Nellie and their two sons Kenneth, aged 1 and Brian, aged 2. Gnr Dadds, a labourer from Magill, SA prior to enlistment, enlisted on 17 May 1941. Whilst serving in Egypt he died on 1 November 1942, aged 26, of wounds received in action and was buried in the El Alamein War Cemetery.
