Description
British Territorial Army recruiting poster. One of a series published in 1938 featuring artwork by Lance Cattermole. This poster is No. 7 of the series aimed at attracting Scottish volunteers. In the foreground are three Territorial Army soldiers in full uniform training to use their rifles set against a lush green Scottish landscape strewn with heather. Purple thistles are visible in the lower right. In the background is a full length portrait of a Scottish warrior wearing a kilt in front of a blue sky with billowing clouds. In his right hand is a sword and he is brandishing a shield in his left. Both the image and text are set within a purple border.
