Unofficial embroided badge : Combat Engineers
Description
Rectangular shaped velcro backed subdued tan and brown patch. The badge features a central bounding kangaroo superimposed over a downward facing capital 'E' which is the engineer map insignia. Above and below the design is 'COMBAT / ENGINEERS'.
History / Summary
This embroidered patch is representative of the Combat Engineers of the Australian Armyanistan whilst deployed on Operation Slipper.
This patch was commissioned by the Combat Engineers as an unofficial unit patch to wear whilst deployed on operations. Patches such as this are made to exert a units identity or pride. Often the designs used in these un-official patches represent a particular event, attitude or personality which the unit sees as significant or humourous.
