Description
Studio portrait of 4061 Sergeant (Sgt) Stanley Robert McDougall, 15th Battalion, of Recherche, Tasmania. A blacksmith prior to enlistment, McDougall embarked with the 12th Reinforcements from Melbourne aboard RMS Orontes on 24 November 1915. McDougall was awarded the Victoria Cross and the Military Medal for his actions in two separate operations near Dernancourt in 1918. He survived the war and was discharged on 24 August 1918. Verso of postcard inscribed, "With kind regards, from Stan".
