Photographic scrapbook compiled by 407424 Flight Lieutenant (Flt Lt) Norman Peter Coles Gunson, 22 Squadron, RAAF, covering his service during the Second World War in New Guinea. Flt Lt Gunson was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross on 23 May 1944 for his devotion to duty and gallant service. The album comprises 146 pages, 63 of which contain newspaper clippings and photographs including air-to-air images of aircraft and oblique aerial photographs of operations over New Guinea as well as several ethnographic photographs of local peoples.
