Description
Ronssoy, France. 3 October 1918. View showing the distribution of land mines in the wire near Duncan Post, Ronssoy, which rendered useless many of the tanks assisting in the attack on this sector of the Hindenburg Main Line, on 29 September 1918. These `plum pudding' bombs formed part of a former British mine field. The tank in the foreground is a Mark V female, with 'H43' painted on the rear plating, '9288' on the rear side plating, and 'B22' painted forward of the left hand sponson. The tank in the background is a Mark V Male, with '4' painted on the left side forward of the sponson.
