Description
Two Australian prisoners of war working in the carpentry shop at the foot of the shaft of tunnel 'Dick', at Stalag Luft III (Stammlager Luftwasse III) German prisoner of war camp in Sagan (Sagan bei Breslau), Germany (now part of Poland). The artist and other officers were held at this camp from September 1943 to January 1945.
