Cinesound newsreel circa 1950 covering operations of No. 77 Squadron RAAF. Item opens with shots of the two cameramen, G. Thompson and B. Whiteman. Scenes of No. 77 Squadron RAAF at Iwakuni Southern Honshu Japan. Japanese mechanics servicing P-51 fighters. Japanese ground personnel moving 500lb bomb trolleys to aircraft. Wing Commander L.T. Spence DFC and Mrs Spence. 35mm Cine camera fitted in a drop tank of a P-51 Mustang for aerial shots of the operations at the Taegu Bulge Korea. Cameraman Bede Whiteman photographed the action from a Wirraway. No. 77 Squadron Mustangs operating from Taegu airstrip. Rockets and 50 cal. ammunition are flown in by RAAF DC-3. Squadron personnel relaxing after the mission. General George A. Stratemeyer awards legion of merit to Wing Commander Spence.
