Mr Forde's visit to Morotai
Description
On 22 January 1946, the Honourable F M Forde, Minister for the Army and Deputy Prime Minister, arrived in Morotai for a visit. During his stay Mr Forde addressed large gatherings of troops and answered many questions put to him by individual soldiers. Also identified: 29 (NX9) Brigadier (Brig) Eric Winslow Woodward DSO OBE, Deputy Assistant Quartermaster-General HQ Morotai Force; Brig Robert Harrold Nimmo, Commander 34th Australian Infantry Brigade; 327 (VX15120) Brig Henry Wells OBE DSO; Private Wells, 67th Australian Infantry Brigade; Major Nicholls, Public Relations Officer.
