Description
Group portrait of seven men taken at a training camp in New South Wales. Identified are brothers 1654 Gunner (Gnr) John Wright Rusten (front row, centre), 1655 Gnr William John Rusten (back row, far left), and 1656 Gnr Joseph Rusten (back row, far right), all of 13th Field Artillery Brigade. The brothers enlisted together at Lithgow in August 1915. A fourth brother 524 Private Albert Patrick Rusten enlisted at a later date and served with the 3rd Light Horse Regiment. Joseph, William and Albert returned to Australia in 1919. Gnr John Rusten died as a result of concussion in France on 10 July 1918.
