Grow Your Own Vegetables...
Description
One of the most well-known Allied home front slogans of the Second World War was “Grow your own vegetables”. It was part of a campaign to reduce food shortages by actively encouraging citizens to cultivate their own gardens for food production. This poster is a rare example of an Australian poster published in support of this Campaign. It was designed by graphic artists and amateur filmmakers Will and Harrie Owen who often took government and private projects to finance animation productions at their Box Hill studio in Victoria.
