Luger P08 Pistol : Lieutenant A C Borella, 26 Battalion, AIF
Description
Luger P08 semi automatic pistol. Overall blued machined steel frame. Toggle marked with DWM and 1916 on the breech. Checkered wood grips and has a 'T' section slide at the backstrap to take a shoulder stock. Safety catch on the left side. The pistol is complete with an unmatched eight shot magazine numbered 2743 on the wooden base. The trigger guard is stamped 2.MG.K.20.
History / Summary
This pistol was souvenired by the late Captain Albert Borella, V.C., M.M. Unfortunately the details of its capture are not known. The markings on the weapon indicate that it was issued to the German Second Machine Gun Battalion, 20th Company.
