Description
File of letters relating to the First World War service of Captain David Gerald Evans, 8th Infantry Battalion. Known as Gerald at home, these letters written between January and August 1917 mention: his time at the Army School of Instruction in France; his realisation he was awarded a Mention in Despatches in the paper; the sports he plays behind the line; matters at home; his brother, Private Francis (Ken) Evans and the 1917 elections.
