Papers relating to the Second World War service of NX70509 Captain Robert Russell Walker, 2/26 Australian Infantry Battalion.
Captain Robert Russell Walker served in Malaya, and was a prisoner of war of the Japanese between February 1942 and September 1945. This file contains papers created by Walker in the lines of his duty, including rolls, lists and notes. It also contains papers collated after his death by his wife Lilian, in an attempt to prove that his death in 1962 was a result of the many illnesses he suffered while a prisoner.
