Description
Snowy landscape at FOB Baylough. Footage taken by Captain Jason Otter, 5th Aviation Regiment (5 Avn Regt) from the cockpit of Australian Army CH-45D Chinook A15-202. Captain Otter later wrote: "Combat Services Support (CSS) Mission Kandahar-Baylough-Qalat-Mizan-Kandahar Mission duration 4.0 hours. Flying Pilot Lt Kenny Cross. Mission imagery commences with AWM2019.311.8.158. Additional footage taken in sequence is captured from AWM2019.311.8.153 to AWM2019.311.8.157 (6 video files). The six files capture the snow covered high terrain to the north of the Area of operations (AO) with imagery moving into the aircraft capturing the crew. In this video the FOB Baylough is deep in snow having landed in the LZ [Landing Zone] heading North West. The imagery is taken out the cockpit sliding window looking back towards the FOB (SW direction). A Humvee security vehicle can be seen moving towards the rear of 202 in deep snow".
