Description

At an altitude of 10,000’ AMSL [above mean sea level], Australian Army CH-47D Chinook A15-202 crosses a ridge prior to descent into Forwarded Operating Base Anaconda (ANA) Bowl. Ahead of 202 can be seen two Chinooks and out of vision, Apache support. Filmed from the cockpit of A15-202 by Captain Jason Otter, C Squadron, 5th Aviation Regiment (5 Avn Regt) (Flying Pilot Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Humphreys). Captain Otter later recalled: "This was a 8.9 hour Mission from Kandahar to Qalat to Deh Chopan, Anaconda, Tarin Kot, Shinkay, Qalat and Kandahar. Mission Dutch and Romanian forces Relief in Place (RIP)... a long day".
