50' Qalat to Kandy Bar.
Description
Sunset. At an altitude of 50 feet, Australian Army CH-47D Chinook A15-202 flies over a river system and farmland towards "Kandy Bar" aka Kandahar Airfield. The lead US Chinook can be seen at approximately 200’ AHO (above heights obstacle). Filmed from the cockpit of A15-202 by Captain Jason Otter, C Squadron, 5th Aviation Regiment (5 Avn Regt) (Flying Pilot Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Humphreys). Captain Otter later recalled: "This was a 8.9 hour Mission from Kandahar to Qalat to Deh Chopan, Anaconda, Tarin Kot, Shinkay, Qalat and return to Kandahar. Mission Dutch and Romanian forces Relief in Place (RIP)... a long day".
