Description
Collection relating to Major Keith McKeddie Doig, 60th Battalion (AAMC). Diary and extensive collection of letters to his fiancée, commenting on the war in general, and in particular conditions in trenches, plight of the wounded, artillery bombardments, his admiration for stretcher bearers, differences between British and Australians, conscription, mail, numerous attacks and counter-attacks, armistice, and the stoic attitude of Australians. Also included are service papers and a handwritten dinner invitation sent to Doig in 1917 by 60th Battalion's Adjutant.
