Left to right: back row: Private Alan Pavy Hutton, 2/4th Army Field Workshops, Kathleen Hutton (sister) and Private Peter Abbott Hutton, 2/43rd Battalion; front row: Paul Hutton (Peter's twin), Private Colin Walter Hutton, 12th Recovery Section, 2/4th Field Workshop, and Private George Hay Hutton, 2/2nd Army Field Workshop. Mrs. B.E. Hutton was the first mother in South Australia to receive a medal from the Department of Defence in recognition of five of her sons having left Australia on active service abroad. Shown here are four of these sons. Private Douglas Wylde Hutton, 2/3rd Machine Gun Battalion, is not shown and Paul Hutton did not serve abroad.
