Flt Sgt Donaldson, aged 28, was killed on 28 October 1942 over the island of Crete during an air battle. He was the son of David Alexander and Hilary Ann Donaldson and the husband of Edna Rose Donaldson of Bardon, Qld. He is buried in the Suda Bay War Cemetery, section 7, row B, plot 20.
