Charters Towers, Qld. The Charters Towers RAAF Wireless Telegraphy Station Recreation Hut. A group of the Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force (WAAAF) working at the Townseille wireless station volunteered to travel to Townsville to open this telegraphy station. The hut housed a piano, that was donated to the station, around which many sing alongs were conducted.
