Description

Ensign Midget Model 22 camera. This folding camera takes 35 mm x 45 mm exposures on Ensign Lukos size E10 roll film. The lens is attached to a folding paper bellows and extends from the camera body along four metal rails. The shutter has two speeds, instantaneous and time, and the focus and lens aperture are not adjustable. On the back of the camera is a simple metal frame viewfinder and the exposure counter is a circular red window, part of which has broken off. Inscribed on the inside of the removable camera backing is 'MADE IN ENGLAND BY THE HOUGHTON-BUTCHER MFG. CO LTD LONDON.E17.' On the inside of the camera to either side of the bellows is inscribed 'ENGLISH PROV PATENT NO 15568 1934'.

History / Summary

Associated with the service of 92530 Sergeant Barbara Joan Esther Morris (later Wicks), born 26 April 1923 in Mosman, New South Wales. Morris enlisted in the Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force on 2 October 1941 and served in Melbourne, Townsville and Charters Towers. She was discharged on 30 November 1945.
