Charters Towers, Qld. Charlotte Freshwater (left) and Freda Walker Jones of the Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force (WAAAF) doing their laundry outdoors in a wood burning copper at the Charters Towers RAAF Wireless Telegraphy Station. Members of the WAAAF working at the wireless station in Townsville volunteered to travel to Charters Towers to open this telegraphy station.
