Folder of 29 letters written by Field Marshal Lord William Birdwood to Sir James Allen, New Zealand Minister of Defence, between 15 May 1915 and 31 October 1919. In early 1917, Allen was awarded a KCB and this is reflected in the titles given to the letters within this file. This folder also includes 5 letters exchanged between Birdwood and other correspondents on topics related to New Zealand forces during this period.
