This file, originally part of Book 6, covers 3 August 1915 to 7 August 1915 and includes extensive official documents and communications relating to the attack on Hill 971, carried out between 6 and 7 August. These include reports on rationing, water supply, troop organisation, speeches to the troops prior to undertaking the attack by Brigadier General Monash, Sir Hamilton and Major General Birdwood, as well as messages exchanged during the event, and information on the simultaneous attack at Lone Pine.
