Too Dark for the Light Horse

Too Dark for the Light Horse tells the story of the contribution of Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders to the services in this photographic exhibition. Unfortunately, the records of the armed forces have not registered the real number of indigenous people who served. But Aborigines and Islanders were there. We can find them in photos or through families coming forward with soldiers' names. This exhibition toured in two forms - a framed version for galleries and a modified lightweight easy-to-erect version touring through community venues.
The modified version of Too Dark for the Light Horse was produced with assistance from Visions of Australia. This exhibition has toured remote communities in the Northern Territory, Queensland, Western Australia, New South Wales and also the Parliamentary Library in Canberra.
