As a result of the latest national health advice, the Memorial is closed to the public from Tuesday, 24 March 2020 until further notice.
The health and safety of our visitors, veteran community, staff and volunteers remains top priority for the Australian War Memorial. With the COVID-19 situation rapidly evolving, updated public information will be made available on our website and social media channels.
This year the Memorial will hold a private, nationally televised Anzac Day commemorative service. This service will be held in the Commemorative Area and Hall of Memory on Anzac Day.
The traditional Dawn Service, National Ceremony and veterans’ march will not take place.
The event will not be open to the public but will be broadcast live across Australia by the ABC and streamed online.
Information about the COVID-19 can be found on the Department of Health website:
Thank you for your continued understanding in these trying times.
