The graves with original grave markers of Captains Chapman and Palmer, both of the 55th Battalion. Capt Percy Wellesley Chapman MC of Goulburn, NSW, was killed in action on 12 March 1917 and Capt Herbert Leopold Palmer of Petersham, NSW, was killed in action on 11 March 1917. They are buried in the Bernafray Wood Cemetery at Montauban, France.
