Surfboard : Dili Surf Life Saving Club
Yellow coloured fibreglass surfboard, or surf rescue board, with two lengths of red and white nylon rope covered by clear plastic tubing, attached to each side of the upper surface. 'SURF RESCUE' is printed in large red lettering along the length of the board. Just below the shovel nosed tip is the number '2' in black. Fins are located on the underside of the board.
Fibreglass surfboard used by the Dili Surf Lifesaving Club (DSLSC). The Club was established by the initial members of the Australian National Command Element East Timor (ASNCE-EM). DSLSC was affiliated with Surf Life Saving Australia and official shirts, shorts and caps were sent from Australia. The DSLSC provided social and recreational activities for ASNCE-EM members and guests, such as a bar facility, movie and hot dog nights, beach days and Australia Day celebrations.
