Number Plate : UNMISET DSLSC, Dili Surf Lifesaving Club
An aluminium vehicle number plate, with raised lettering ‘UNMISET DSLSC’ and edge in a mid blue colour upon a cream iridescent background. The lettering is the abbreviated United Nations Mission in East Timor, Dili Surf Life Saving Club. The plate has four worn attachment holes, one in each corner. On the unpainted reverse, printed in black are the manufacturing details ‘SH KIWA.2316D-5.7014 KAAL.Y524604.11/07/02 11:31’.
The United Nations Mission in East Timor (UNMISET) was established on 20 May 2002. It's role was to provide assistance to East Timor until operational responsibilities were fully transferred to the East Timor authorities. The operation ceased on 20 May 2005. The Dili Surf Life Saving Club (DSLSC) was established by the initial members of the Australian National Command Element East Timor (ASNCE-EM). The Club was affiliated with Surf Life Saving Australia and official shirts, shorts and caps were sent from Australia. The DSLSC provided social and recreational activities for ASNCE-EM members and guests, such as a bar facility, movie and hot dog nights, beach days and Australia Day celebrations.
