Description

The H/F D/F (High Frequency, Direction Finding or 'huff duff') camp at Truscott Base. Seen here are the living quarters, the floor was built up off the ground on poles for better air circulation. The secret base, on the Anjo Peninsula in the remote Kimberly region of Western Australia, was built in 1944 so the RAAF could launch raids on the Japanese enemy in Asia. The base was only accessable by ferry.
