Description
Green inflatable mattress made of nylon with a waterproof coating. The mattress has three black plastic inflatable panels and a pocket for a pillow. A maker's label reads 'CONLONS AUSTRALIA 1971 (broad arrow) 8465-66-011-5818'.
History / Summary
Used by Brian Alabaster during his service with the Australian Citizen's Military Force during the 1960s and 1970s. In 1964 Alabaster enlisted as a private in 3 Battalion. He later served with the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and was discharged in 1982 with the rank of major.
