One man lightweight tent : Major B Alabaster, Australian Citizen's Military Force
Description
Rubberised nylon one man lightweight tent. The tent has reinforced corners with metal eyelets, three cotton webbing loops across the middle and fourteen loops with press studs around the edge. A waterproofing compound has been applied and is now dry and cracking in places. A maker's label reads 'C.P.I N.S.W. 1967 (broad arrow) 8465-66-013-5032'.
History / Summary
Used by Brian Alabaster during his service with the Australian Citizen's Military Force during the 1960s and 1970s. In 1964 Alabaster enlisted as a private in 3 Battalion. He later served with the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and was discharged in 1982 with the rank of major.
