Description

Pair of black leather elastic sided boots with black rubber soles. The out side of the each sole has 'Blundstone' embossed. There are remnants of spilt white paint on parts of the right boot. The nose caps of both boots are worn and scuffed. The tread on each boot is worn. On the arch of the boots is embossed 'Blundstone' with size 8 1/2, a circular clock with the arrow hand pointing at the number 8 and 'LEATHER UPPER P.U. SOLE'. The top of each boot has a pair black and gold nylon tabs with 'Blundstone' and 'Since 1870' on the rearward tab. On the forward tab an embroidered Australian standards 'five tick logo' and 'AS/NZS 2210.3 / CLASS I LIC497.1 E' on the reverse.

This pair of boots are associated with the service of Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Shayne Eades who served onboard HMAS Toowoomba during Operation Catalyst in 2007.

He was posted to HMAS Toowoomba on 24 August 2006. His category onboard this ship at the time was CPO Marine Technician where his role was to be in charge of maintaining refrigeration units, air-conditioning units, cooling water pumps for the engine rooms, galley equipment including ovens, fry pans and deep fat fryers. He was also second in command for refuelling the ship while at sea with Coalition ships.
