British War Medal 1914-20 associated with the service of 2750 Private Robert Scott. Scott was born at Melton, Victoria in April 1893. Scott worked as a capenter before enlisting with the AIF on 30 June 1915 in Hobart. He embarked for Egypt on 21 August 1915 aboard HMAT Kyarra from Melbourne with 8th reinforcements of 15 Battalion. After training in Egypt, Scott was sent to Lemnos where he joined his battalion on 23 October, but returned to Egypt on 25 October. When the doubling of the AIF occured in 1916, Scott was transferred to the 47th Bn, the daughter battalion of 15 Bn on 3 March 1916. Scott embarked from Alexandria on 2 June 1916 and disembarking in Marseilles, France on 9 June. Private Scott served an the Western Front for four months before he was killed outside Ypres, Belgium on 12 October 1916. Scott was buried at Ridge Wood Military Cemetery at Voormezeele.
