Description
The original grave marker of 1593 Sergeant (Sgt) Douglas Clive Millar Parkhill DCM, 6th Machine Gun Company. A clerk of East Brunswick, Vic, before enlisting on 5 March 1915, Sgt Parkhill embarked with the First Reinforcements, 22nd Battalion from Melbourne on HMAT Berrima (A35) on 28 June 1915. He was killed in action in France on 11 August 1918 at the age of 24, and is buried in Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres.
