Description
Group portrait of hospital staff outside a hospital. The staff include, doctors, matron, sisters, VADs, orderlies and a hospital chaplain. Amongst this group, exact position unknown, is Sister Edith Blake of San Souci, NSW, who served with the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service and was killed when the hospital ship she was on, the HMHS Glenart Castle, was sunk by a German U-boat on 26 February 1918. The hospital is possibly the No 17 General Hospital in Alexandria, Egypt.
