Description

This folder contains 24 letters and telegrams sent and received by Field Marshal Lord William Birdwood between 28 January 1918 and 18 December 1918. Subjects discussed in these telegrams include Australian troops, Lille, Birdwood as Commanding Officer of the Australian troops, Tournay, Toulon, Australia House, the Armistice, and relations between the AIF and the Royal Australian Navy. Some of these telegrams are written in French.
