This folder contains three letters sent by Field Marshal Lord William Birdwood between 29 January 1938 and 18 January 1939. Although the title of the file specifically mentions Kemal Ataturk’s funeral, there are also other letters in this file. Subjects covered include Kemal Ataturk’s funeral, the writing of the official history of the war, and the evacuation from Gallipoli. Several officers are also mentioned in these letters including Monash, Rosenthal, Hobbs, Glasgow, Gellibrand, Chauvel, and Jellicoe.
